Last night I dreamed about being late to work. I always have this dream when I start a new job.

Last night I dreamed I was in a familiar although dilapidated house. There was a beehive somewhere nearby, and bees flew in and out of the house freely, I guessed through broken windows or a hole in the roof. I kept waving them away, but eventually one of the bees stung me on my left eyelid.

Last night I dreamed that I was staying with a Muslim family in Iraq. My memory of the dream is a bit fragmented now, but at some point I apologized for not having my head and hair covered properly, as though I had known about where I would be traveling that night! I was given a hijab, but it had pins in it as though someone were mending it or if it was not completely finished. There were three silver pins that I removed and carefully returned to the lady of the house. I woke up thinking of Jill Carroll.

Last night I dreamed -
I was in a house, someone else's coastal vacation house with a family. I think I was maybe the nanny for a small blonde boy of about 5. We had discovered that there were teeny, tiny sewing implements scattered on the floor. I picked them up as fast as possible, but he found three or four pins with red, yellow and white heads, and stuck them in the web of the thumb on his left hand carefully, like a small acupuncturist.

Later I walked outside and down a narrow gravelled path to an outbuilding where a television show was being filmed. Three people were sitting at black topped lab tables with crew members painting their heads and shoulders with glow in the dark paint. They were meant to represent planets, the first two are blurry, but I remember someone turning the lights off repeatedly to show the fantastic luminous designs. The host of the show said, "And here is X (my good friend), painted as Uranus, this version is more red than the last." I turned and saw my friend in truly disturbing red glow in the dark paint, with mottled darker splotches under her eyes and green hair.

At that point, A's alarm went off and I lost the thread of the dream. It's a couple hours later now, and I got curious about why X was painted as Uranus. At first I thought it was just my dreaming mind being sort of sophmoric, but then I decided to google the meaning of that planet. Turns out that Uranus is the planet of revolution, bringing freedom, independence and removing restraints, not just the planet most likely to be hysterically funny to second graders. She going through a rather difficult time right now and these qualities would be extremely helpful. I didn't know I knew that much about astrology!
